I've really lacked in using spices on pork chops and decided enough is enough.. let's give it a go. This turned out to be super easy to make and very delicious. Thanks to Lemon Blossoms for this wonderful combination of flavours. The brown sugar gives it this sweetness that's not overbearing.
The Rub
All you need is
Oil (I used canola)
Brown Sugar
Garlic Powder
Paprika
Italian Seasoning
Salt and Pepper
Me being me in true fashion didn't scroll to the bottom to find the amount's so I just dove in with my sprinkle and see method. Go to Lemon Blossoms to find the recipe amounts (link above) or try the way I did it.
Step 1:
Preheat oven to 375 degree Fahrenheit. Line a cookie sheet with tin foil (I do this because it cooks evenly and way less mess to clean afterwards)
Step 2:
Put the pork on the sheet and drizzle some oil over the chops. I used about a tablespoon of brown sugar, sprinkle. Don't worry if the seasonings are on the pan because we will use it after. I covered the chops with garlic powder and italian seasoning. I lightly used Paprika and then put a small amount of salt and pepper.
Step 3:
Using tongs, grab each chop and spread it over the additional seasoning on the pan. Make sure both sides look coated
Step 4:
Cook for 17 minutes or until an internal temperature of 140 degrees
We paired the pork chops with fettucini alfredo and steamed broccoli. My 3 year old and 6 year old's plates were clean and I didn't hear one complaint about the pork. That's a win for me!
Let me know how it went for you. Do you have other combinations of spices that work well together on pork?
